The Elburn Metra Station started providing passenger rail service in January 2006 from Elburn to Chicago on the Union Pacific/West Line. 

It offers a more convenient travel option for thousands of residents in the far west suburbs to travel to Chicago or any of the 17 Metra stops inbetween.
